as of 7 p.m., entergy mississippi has restored power for more than 12,000 customers after a line of severe thunderstorms and strong winds damaged our electrical systems on easter sunday evening.
violent winds and thunderstorms easter sunday caused some 128,000 customer outages across the entergy arkansas service territory, with damage that could take multiple days to repair.
severe weather rolled through mississippi much of easter sunday, striking entergy mississippi’s service area particularly hard late in the evening on april 12. the line of storms caused extensive damage and as of 10 a.m., about 36,700 customers are without power, down from a peak of 40,779 customers yesterday at 11:30 p.m. we have implemented our restoration plan and workers are staying safe while restoring service where possible.
the recent storms knocked power out for 194,496 of our customers across our service territory. at 8:45 a.m., we had 169,733 customers out of service.
crews are performing damage assessments and restoring power where it is safe to do so, including in hard hit north louisiana, after waves of violent thunderstorms crossed the state on easter sunday.
