entergy mississippi has restored power to more than 38,000 customers after severe thunderstorms caused significant equipment damage and power outages throughout much of our northern and central service areas on saturday, january 11.
all customers that can accept electrical service safely have been restored and crews continue restoring power to customers impacted by weekend thunderstorms and tornadoes.
as of noon today, outages have been reduced from the peak of more than 42,800 outages to 2,653 outages.
as of 11 a.m. tuesday, about 4,000 customers affected by the weekend’s storms remain without power, down from a peak of 38,300. we made significant progress yesterday and have brought in special equipment to help us access and restore damage in hard-to-reach areas.
