since barry first started affecting the state, we have amassed a workforce of more than 4,000 and restored power to more than 275,000 customers. as of 9 a.m. monday, there were approximately 24,000 customers who remain without power in louisiana, with concentrations in the greater baton rouge area as well as terrebonne and lafourche parishes.

hurricane barry weakened as a tropical storm and is now a tropical depression that continues to move slowly causing numerous outages. mississippi will have locally heavy thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes that will be possible through monday with the incoming rain bands. we are assessing damage and restoring service to our customers where it is safe to do so.
as the storm moves slowly through our service territory, outage numbers will continue to fluctuate. while our number of customers affected remains fairly consistent, we have already restored over 188,000 customers.
a workforce of more than 3,900 entergy scouts, line crews and contractors are continuing to perform damage assessments and restoration where it is safe to do so as barry, which made landfall yesterday as a category 1 hurricane, continues a northerly track through louisiana.
due to the accessibility challenges, it may take several days following landfall before power is restored to the majority of our customers.
hurricane barry, downgraded to a tropical storm, continues moving slowly northward over west-central louisiana and is causing some outages in mississippi. we are restoring service to our customers where it is safe to do so and assessing damage. strong winds and heavy rains continue to be a threat to our service area.
