recognizing the key to a skilled workforce is a quality education, entergy has joined as the lead sponsor in partnership with the new orleans college football championship host committee and the college football playoff foundation to make a major impact on orleans parish teachers.

this fall, 13 louisiana high school graduates will attend college with a little help from entergy's community power scholarship program. the children of entergy employees in louisiana each received $5,000 in recognition of their community service, academic achievements, leadership and work experience.

arkansas high school seniors can now apply for the oscar washington jr., educational fund scholarship, which will award a minimum of seven $1,000 scholarships to college-bound high school students. scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a degree at a four-year college and will be based on academic achievement, financial need and volunteer service.

entergy has partnered with southern university to further support their mutual commitment to developing engineering talent for the future. a $2 million grant to southern university from entergy and the entergy charitable foundation will support classroom and lab infrastructure improvements, as well as curriculum and faculty professional development for the university’s engineering program.

support from the entergy charitable foundation has helped posse new orleans fulfill the college-bound dreams of more than 150 high-school scholars, many of whom would have otherwise lacked the resources to continue their education.
