palisades power plant returned to service this morning, following the completion of its successful scheduled refueling and maintenance outage. control room personnel returned the plant to operation, sending electricity to the grid after a planned shutdown that began october 28. this was the 26th refueling in the plant’s history.

the vermont public utility commission (puc) today issued an order that approves the proposed sale of entergy nuclear vermont yankee to subsidiaries of northstar group services for decommissioning the vermont yankee nuclear power station site. the puc also issued an amended certificate of public good, which authorizes northstar to own, possess the licenses for, and decommission vermont yankee.
