entergy texas hurricane beryl update – 7/9/24, 8:30 p.m.

the company is on track to have 50% of customers restored by wednesday and all customers restored by sunday
entergy texas storm crews have made significant progress assessing damage and restoring power to customers affected by hurricane beryl. as of 8:30 p.m. tuesday, approximately 189,000 customers are without power, which is down from the peak of approximately 252,460 outages monday afternoon.
restoration crews are on track to restore 50% of customers impacted by the end of day wednesday. the chart below provides estimated restoration dates for the entergy texas service area past wednesday, which are also available on entergy’s view outage map.

a heat advisory has been issued for southeast texas until 8 p.m. on july 10. entergy texas encourages customers to keep the following tips in mind regarding heat safety:
- drink fluids, even if you don't feel thirsty.
- wear loose, lightweight clothing and a hat.
- wear sunscreen; sunburn affects the body's ability to cool itself.
- replace salt lost from sweating by drinking fruit juice or sports drinks.
- air conditioning is the best way to cool off; if you are using a generator, do so safely.
- avoid spending time outdoors during the hottest part of the day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
