entergy new orleans and entergy louisiana storm restoration update – 12/14/22, 9:30 p.m.
12/14/2022
as of 9:30 p.m. crews have successfully restored more than 29,000 customers – down from a peak of approximately 47,000 customers in southeast louisiana impacted by today’s severe weather. entergy new orleans and entergy louisiana crews continue to assess damages in some of the most heavily impacted areas and restore power to customers where it is safe to do so.
important safety reminders:
- remember to stay away from downed power lines and that the most dangerous part of a storm can be immediately after it passes. there is no way to know if a downed power line is energized, so if you see one, please keep your distance and report it to us at 1-800-entergy.
- for customers with gas service, if you smell gas at your home or in any other building, you should leave the area immediately. go to a safe area and call us at 1-800-entergy (1-800-368-3749) to report the suspected leak.
- never use a generator indoors. carbon monoxide from the exhaust is deadly. never plug the generator into a wall outlet. if you plan to use a standby built-in generator, always use a licensed electrician to hook it up. when using standby built-in generators, the main breakers should be opened to avoid feeding power back into entergy’s lines and creating a hazard for the public and power line workers.
