outage restoration background:
a line of severe thunderstorms packing strong winds, heavy rains and lightning struck louisiana monday causing more than 37,500 customer outages at its peak. the storms hit north louisiana the hardest. as of 6 p.m. monday, june 24, approximately 5,950 north louisiana customers remain without power with potential for more outages as forecasts indicate possibly more severe weather throughout the remainder of the week.
damage assessments are approximately 90% complete. entergy louisiana crews continue to work as safely and quickly as possible with an additional 32 crews to assist with restoration. the majority of customers who can accept power should be restored by tuesday, june 25, 11p.m. customers in the hardest hit areas will be restored by wednesday, june 26, 11p.m. restoration estimates are subject to change based on continued damage assessments.
the safety of both the public and our workers is our top priority, followed by a speedy restoration. the greatest danger during and after a storm is from downed power lines. if you see a downed power line, keep your distance and do not attempt to move the power line. report downed power lines and outages by calling 1-800-entergy (1-800-368-3749) or 1-800-9outage (1-800-968-8243).
north louisiana region
entergy louisiana crews are working safely to restore power as quickly as possible. outages are widespread across north louisiana with some of the most severe damage located in ouachita, bienville, webster, jackson, winn, claiborne, caldwell, lasalle, madison, franklin, catahoula, concordia, richland, and tensas parishes.
ouachita parish
as of 6 p.m., approximately 500 customers remain without power across ouachita parish with over 18 broken poles, 20 crossarms, 54 spans of wire down and four transformers damaged during the severe weather. crews continue to make significant progress with restoration efforts and expect to have all customers restored by tuesday, june 25.
madison parish
as of 6 p.m., approximately 450 customers remain without power. the most severe damage occurred in and around delhi and tallulah with over 15 broken poles, 11 crossarms, 35 spans of wire down, and six damaged transformers. restoration crews continue to make significant progress and expect to have all customers restored by tuesday, june 25.
bienville, jackson, lincoln, webster and winn parishes
approximately 1,300 customers remain without power across bienville, jackson, lincoln, webster and winn parishes. strong winds caused significant damage to entergy’s equipment including over 120 spans of wire down and 15 broken poles. haynesville, ringgold, jonesboro and winnfield were some of the hardest hit areas. crews continue to restore power in a safe manner and expect to have the majority of customers restored by tuesday, june 25. the remaining customers in the most isolated areas are expected to be restored by wednesday, june 26.
caldwell and lasalle parishes
over 2,700 customers remain without power across caldwell and lasalle parishes, with the most severe damages in columbia, jena, midway and olla. damage assessments are 80% complete with over 70 spans of wire down, 25 broken poles, and 15 broken crossarms. restoration crews continue to restore power in a safe manner, and expect to have the majority of customers restored by tuesday, june 25. the remaining customers in the most isolated areas are expected to be restored by wednesday, june 26.
catahoula, concordia, franklin, richland and tensas parishes
approximately 1,000 customers remain without power across catahoula, concordia, franklin, richland and tensas parishes. damage assessments are 90% complete. communities around ferriday, waterproof, and saint joseph sustained some of the most severe damage with over 12 broken poles, 10 crossarms, 5 transformers and 36 spans of wire down. crews continue to restore power in a safe manner, and expect to have the majority of customers restored by tuesday, june 25. the remaining customers in the most isolated areas are expected to be restored by wednesday, june 26.
