entergy arkansas storm update – 8/20/24, 5 p.m.

power has been restored to nearly all entergy arkansas customers impacted by this week’s storms. multiple fronts caused widespread outages across the state. since the peak outage count of 39,370 during the evening of aug. 18, entergy arkansas has successfully restored power to 99% of customers impacted.
damages include 141 utility poles, 555 spans of downed power lines and 48 transformers.
as crews continue to clear debris and restore power in hard-hit areas, it is possible that a few customers in the russellville, dardanelle and hot springs areas could see their power restored wednesday. estimated restoration times for these specific customers is reflected on the outage map. customers are encouraged to visit entergy.com/viewoutages for the latest restoration times for their specific location.

consistent with our commitment to powering life for our customers every day, our crews are rebuilding the system with thicker, stronger poles. in some cases, concrete poles are being used to improve system infrastructure and make it more resilient.

restoration times
pope county/russellville
damage assessments are 95% assessed. currently 306 customers remain without power in russellville and surrounding areas. approximately 87 utility poles, 29 transformers, 31 crossarms and 423 spans of wire were damaged or destroyed during the storm. a span of wire is the distance between two utility poles. additional personnel and resources have been brought in to help with restoration. most of the customers who can receive power will be restored by 10 p.m. tonight.
garland county/hot springs
damage assessments are complete. currently 61 customers remain without power in hot springs and surrounding areas. approximately 21 utility poles, six transformers, 11 crossarms and 44 spans of wire were damaged or destroyed during the storm. additional personnel and resources have been brought in to help with restoration. all customers who can receive power will be restored by 10 p.m. tonight.
jefferson county/pine bluff
damage assessments are complete. currently 21 customers remain without power in pine bluff and surrounding areas. approximately nine utility poles, three transformers and 20 spans of wire were damaged or destroyed during the storm. additional personnel and resources have been brought in to help with restoration efforts. we estimate all customers who can receive power will be restored by 10 p.m. tonight.
desha county/mcgehee
damage assessments are 99% assessed. currently 80 customers remain without power in mcgehee and surrounding areas. approximately four utility poles, one transformer, two crossarms and eight spans of wire were damaged or destroyed during the storm. additional personnel and resources have been brought in to help with restoration efforts. we estimate all customers who can receive power will be restored by 10 p.m. this tonight.
