most back on by 10 tonight, but a few will carry over into monday
little rock – as of 7 p.m., entergy arkansas line crews, contractors and tree trimmers have restored power to all but 2,800 of the 138,000 customers who were left in the dark after a severe storm hit the state thursday night.
almost 2,000 workers from 15 other states are working 16-hour days in stifling heat until the job is complete. the number remaining out will continue to decrease this evening as work continues.
“this has been a trying time for our customers who lost power in this storm, especially for those who have been out for three days. we understand how miserable and inconvenient it is to be without power in the middle of an arkansas summer,” said entergy arkansas, inc. vice president of customer service oscar washington. “i want to assure everyone that we had a detailed, well-practiced plan in place long before this storm developed, and by following that plan we’ve been able to repair in three days what easily could have taken much longer. many thanks to the nearly 2,000 who came from 14 other states to help execute that plan.”
entergy arkansas provides electricity to approximately 700,000 customers in 63 counties. entergy arkansas is a subsidiary of 沙特vs墨西哥让球, an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. entergy owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, including nearly 10,000 megawatts of nuclear power. entergy delivers electricity to 2.8 million utility customers in arkansas, louisiana, mississippi and texas. entergy has annual revenues of approximately $11.5 billion and more than 13,000 employees.
