huntsville becomes latest area for service reliability project

motorists urged to drive cautiously in work areas
huntsville, texas -- contract crews working for entergy texas, inc. are on the move, trimming vegetation, limbs and brush away from power lines in huntsville.
contract crews have two power lines to clear, both of which originate at the wyntex substation on fm 2821. work is already underway on one 16-mile-long power line that serves 860 customers, most of whom are in an area north of cross timbers drive and west of highway 75. this project is expected to take about six weeks to complete.
work is scheduled to begin on the other power line the week of march 16. that line is about six miles long and serves 594 customers in an area along university avenue from fm 2821 to 11th street. work is expected to be complete within three weeks of the start date depending on weather.
as always, customers are urged to be aware and take caution while driving because personnel will be working along and near roadways.
"we've just started working in the huntsville area," said ronnie hale, customer service representative. "all of our power lines are on a regular schedule for maintenance to ensure that vegetation is trimmed away. it's all about working to make sure our customers have a safe, reliable supply of power."
crews will be using bucket trucks and also conducting work by hand.
