nearly all customers restored after severe weather caused widespread outages thursday and friday
the majority of entergy texas customers have been restored after severe thunderstorms, hail, lightning and strong winds caused widespread outages across the entergy texas service area thursday and friday. as of 6:30 p.m. saturday, approximately 373 outages remain, which is a significant decrease from the peak of approximately 37,600 outages thursday morning.
flooding is preventing restoration crews from accessing electrical equipment in cleveland, new caney, huntsville, dayton and conroe communities. because entergy texas infrastructure is submerged underwater or inaccessible, customers in these areas are expected to be restored no later than wednesday, may 8. calls and text messages were sent directly to all impacted customers to notify them about the reason for the extended outage and ways to stay informed throughout the restoration process.
with a third round of heavy rainfall forecasted for the southeast texas area on sunday, entergy texas crews and the expanded restoration team remain on standby to safely restore power as quickly as possible.
