entergy's team came out strong for the allstate sugar bowl crescent city classic, with 132 employees and family members from around southeastern louisiana participating in the 41st annual event on saturday, april 20 in new orleans.

"the weather was perfect, and everyone had a great time," said entergy new orleans' kim mitchell, leader of the internal planning committee. "we helped raise more than $3 million for new orleans non-profits by participating this year, so the event was also a fun way for employees to give back to the community."

those who keep track of crescent city classic race results will recognize the name of lockport employee byron grabert, who has been entergy's first finisher several years in a row. this year he blazed across the finish line in 38 minutes, 45 seconds, placing 10th in his age group and 92nd overall in the field of 10,545 runners.

after the race, entergy hosted a hospitality tent in new orleans' city park, where a festival was held near the finish line with refreshments and live bands.

giving back to the community is an integral part of entergy's mission to create sustainable value for community stakeholders through philanthropic support and volunteerism.
