conroe, texas – with two major vegetation management projects already on the books for conroe this year, a third is about to begin in the south frazier and gladstell road areas. as always, customers are urged to be alert for workers and to drive cautiously in those areas.

the latest project is scheduled to begin feb. 9 and, weather permitting, will be completed in about a month. the power line scheduled for maintenance originates at the conroe bulk substation at south frazier and foster drive. the 8.5-mile-long line serves 2,113 customers in the area.

“it’s all about reliability,” said victor enmon, customer service representative for the area. “trees can grow into and fall into lines, brush and vines can also cause problems that may result in outages. keeping our lines on a regular schedule of maintenance is an important part of the preventative measures we take.”

while crews will be in highly-visible bucket trucks, customers can expect to see specialized equipment in the area, plus crews working manually to remove vegetation.
