eight mississippi students awarded entergy community power scholarships

program recognizes academic excellence, commitment to community service

jackson, mississippi – eight mississippi high-school seniors who gave their best in the classroom and the community were this year’s recipients of entergy community power scholarships. each year, entergy awards $5,000 scholarships to dependents of employees in recognition of their community service and academic success.

class of 2020 scholarship recipients are:

  • chandler alexander of madison, son of lee alexander, power plant manager for entergy mississippi’s baxter wilson plant. he graduated from germantown high school and plans to attend vanderbilt university.
  • hannah crowe of flowood, daughter of shane crowe, relay settings supervisor, transmission, and anita crowe, human resources manager, entergy services. a graduate of northwest rankin high school, she plans to attend mississippi state university and study pathology.
  • hailey dennis of madison, daughter of bobby dennis, dry fuel storage supervisor, entergy nuclear. she graduated from germantown high school and plans to study nursing at hinds community college.
  • ethan huff of natchez, son of keith huff, shift manager, grand gulf nuclear station. he graduated from cathedral high school and plans to major in mechanical engineering at the university of mississippi.
  • claire price of madison, daughter of brian price, information security engineer. a graduate of germantown high school, she plans to study pediatrics at mississippi state university.
  • carleigh sproulls of natchez, daughter of toya sproulls, security shift supervisor, grand gulf nuclear station. she graduated from natchez high school and plans to study biological sciences at the university of southern mississippi, attend medical school, and pursue a career as an obstetrician-gynecologist.
  • sarah turnipseed of madison, daughter of lea turnipseed, entergy mississippi’s vice president of customer service. a graduate of madison ridgeland academy, she plans to study microbiology at mississippi state university.
  • sophia wilbourn of madison, daughter of victoria wilbourn, lead financial analyst, entergy nuclear. she graduated from madison central high school and plans to major in public policy and leadership at the university of virginia.
