texas storm restoration sunday evening update

since the severe weather that blew through entergy texas service territory on may 10th, entergy has restored service to more than 97,662 customers. as of 4:00 pm, there are 6,925 customers without power. the remaining significant damage exists in the port arthur and mid county areas. over the past two days, additional resources have arrived in the area to assist our crews with restoring power safely and quickly.

at this time, entergy texas has directed all the available crews on completing restoration work in the port arthur and winnie areas.

safety is an entergy key value and always comes first. when restoring power, we have a specific process we follow to safely restore all customers. first, we restore power to critical community infrastructure and essential services such as hospitals, water treatment plants, police and fire stations, and communication systems. then, we will concentrate our resources on what gets the greatest number of customers restored the fastest.

port arthur

throughout the day, entergy texas has restored power to an additional 2,062 customers. as of 4 pm, there are still 3,690 customers without power. there are 520 workers in the mid county and port arthur areas combined with more resources being added as other areas of the system are restored. crews are still performing damage assessments in the area and expect to be completed this evening. crews are currently working today at shreveport, gulfway and 9th ave, rosedale, woodrow, hwy 69, big bend ave., s 4 ½ street, 29th and 11th ave, hanks, gulfway and main, 7thstreet, 8th street, coke dock road, and west 15th st.  while we expect that most customers will be restored sooner, some customers should expect outages to last through tuesday, may 14 at 6:00 pm. we apologize for the inconvenience and are working as quickly as safely possible. 

entergy texas has opened a customer information center in the port arthur area located at central mall in the parking lot near sears. the physical address is 3100 hwy 365. the center will be open today until 6 pm, and tomorrow, monday, may 13, from 9 am – 3 pm. entergy representatives will be available to assist customers with outage concerns while customers wait for power to be restored.

mid county

entergy texas has restored power to an additional 1,902 customers today in the mid county area. as of 4 pm, there are still 1,872 customers without power. crews are still performing damage assessments in the area and expect to be completed this evening. there are 520 workers in the mid county and port arthur areas combined with more resources being added as other areas of the system are restored. neighborhoods in mid county where crews are on site include: bobby circle, 76th and w port arthur rd., 4th st, magnolia st., spurlock rd., 12th st., priya, 14th st., hampton rd., the corner of ford and holmes, 31st at spurlock, 29th st., woodrow and neches, central, boston and 9th st., and 5 ½ st. in nederland. while we expect that most customers will be restored sooner, some customers should expect outages to last through tuesday, may 14 at 6 pm. we apologize for the inconvenience and are working as quickly as safely possible.

winnie

as of 4 pm, there are 54 customers in anahuac without power and 284 customers in winnie waiting for power to be restored. there are 100 workers in winnie and surrounding areas. crews have replaced 17 poles and are will be replacing 4 additional poles in the field this evening. there is currently 1,400 feet of wire to repair and 2 transformers requiring replacement. entergy crews are on site in the 1600 block of hamshire rd. in winnie, in the 1600 block of sandell rd. in hamshire, on hwy 1985 near fm 562 and in the 7000 block of eagle rd in anahuac, on hwy 563 in wallisville, and in the 7900 block of hwy 61 in devers. while we expect that most customers will be restored sooner, some customers should expect outages to last through monday, may 13 at 10 pm. we apologize for the inconvenience and are working as quickly as safely possible. 

orange, vidor

entergy texas is aware of customers experiencing long-lasting outages in the woodmont dr., eddleman rd., and memorial dr. areas of orange. the outage is due to damage to large equipment feeding this area. there are crews on site working to restore power to affected customers as safely and quickly as possible.

beaumont
